Il 13 febbraio, le prestigiose sale del Museo d'Arte e Scienza apriranno le porte alla cerimonia di premiazione degli Olympus Arts Awards. Tra i nomi selezionati per la Sezione Arti Visive e per la sezione Poesia, emerge la figura di Tatev Gasparyan, artista eclettica che da forma ai sentimenti umani.

1. Come nascono le tue opere? Guardando i dipinti vincitori dell'Olympus Arts Award, sono stato subito attratto dal calore che emanano e trasmettono. Quale messaggio vuoi trasmettere?

Le mie opere nascono dal silenzio e dall'osservazione. Emergono lentamente, quasi come ricordi che affiorano più che come idee che si costruiscono. Sono attratto da momenti di silenziosa intimità, da una vicinanza umana che non ha bisogno di parole.

Il calore che senti nasce dal mio desiderio di rappresentare la tenerezza come una forma di forza. Attraverso forme semplificate e volti addolciti, cerco di parlare di cura, connessione e sicurezza emotiva. Questi dipinti non sono narrazioni, ma sentimenti: appartenenza, protezione e il legame invisibile tra le persone.

2. Quali sono i tuoi colori preferiti?

Il blu occupa un posto molto speciale nel mio lavoro e nel mio mondo interiore. Sono profondamente attratta dalle sue molteplici sfumature: la calma, la profondità, il senso di quiete che trasmette. Il blu trasmette introspezione e infinito, come uno spazio dove i pensieri possono riposare.

Allo stesso tempo, mi ritrovo spesso a scoprire altri colori e a lasciarli entrare naturalmente nei miei dipinti. Calde tonalità della terra, rossi tenui e tenui toni neutri si accompagnano spesso al blu, creando equilibrio emotivo. Per me, il colore è un'esplorazione: ogni opera rivela la tavolozza di cui ha bisogno.

3. Che ruolo ha l'arte nella tua vita?

L'arte non è separata dalla mia vita: è il modo in cui la comprendo. Dipingere è il mio modo di ascoltare me stessa e il mondo. Mi aiuta a elaborare emozioni inesprimibili e mi permette di trasformare la vulnerabilità in qualcosa di visibile e condivisibile. Attraverso l'arte, mi sento connessa: con gli altri e con me stessa.

4. Se potessi incontrare un artista del passato, chi sceglieresti?

Sceglierei Amedeo Modigliani. Le sue figure trasmettono un profondo senso di solitudine e calma interiore. Ammiro il modo in cui ha semplificato le forme approfondendo le emozioni, il modo in cui i suoi personaggi appaiono distanti eppure profondamente umani. Sento un dialogo silenzioso con la sua opera, soprattutto nel modo in cui i volti diventano veicoli di emozioni piuttosto che di descrizioni.

5. Cosa significa per te essere stato selezionato tra i trenta vincitori dell'Olympus Arts Award ed esporre a Milano, al Museo MAS Arte e Scienza?

Essere selezionato tra i vincitori dell'Olympus Arts Award è per me un onore e un momento di profonda emozione. Esporre a Milano, al MAS Museo Arte e Scienza, è come se il mio lavoro avesse trovato uno spazio più ampio per respirare e parlare.

È una conferma che l'intimità, la dolcezza e l'emozione silenziosa trovano spazio nell'arte contemporanea. Considero questa opportunità non solo un riconoscimento, ma un invito a continuare a creare con onestà e a condividere il mio mondo interiore con un pubblico internazionale.

Olympus Arts Awards: interview with artist Tatev Gasparyan

On February 13th, the prestigious halls of the Museum of Art and Science will open their doors to the Olympus Arts Awards ceremony. Among the names selected for the Visual Arts and Poetry sections, Tatev Gasparyan stands out, an eclectic artist who gives form to human feelings.

1. How do your works come about? Looking at the Olympus Arts Award-winning paintings, I was immediately drawn to the warmth they exude and convey. What message do you want to convey?

My works are born from silence and observation. They emerge slowly, almost like memories surfacing rather than ideas being constructed. I'm drawn to moments of silent intimacy, a human closeness that requires no words.

The warmth you feel comes from my desire to represent tenderness as a form of strength. Through simplified forms and softened faces, I try to convey care, connection, and emotional security. These paintings are not narratives, but feelings: belonging, protection, and the invisible bond between people.

2. What are your favorite colors?

Blue holds a very special place in my work and in my inner world. I'm deeply drawn to its many shades: the calm, the depth, the sense of stillness it conveys. Blue conveys introspection and infinity, like a space where thoughts can rest.

At the same time, I often find myself discovering other colors and letting them flow naturally into my paintings. Warm earth tones, muted reds, and soft neutrals often pair with blue, creating emotional balance. For me, color is an exploration: each work reveals the palette it needs.

3. What role does art play in your life?

Art is not separate from my life: it's how I understand it. Painting is my way of listening to myself and the world. It helps me process inexpressible emotions and allows me to transform vulnerability into something visible and shareable. Through art, I feel connected: with others and with myself.

4. If you could meet an artist from the past, who would you choose?

I would choose Amedeo Modigliani. His figures convey a profound sense of solitude and inner calm. I admire the way he simplified forms while deepening emotions, the way his characters appear distant yet profoundly human. I sense a silent dialogue with his work, especially in the way faces become vehicles of emotion rather than description.

5. What does it mean to you to be selected among the thirty winners of the Olympus Arts Award and to exhibit in Milan, at the MAS Arte e Scienza Museum?

Being selected as one of the winners of the Olympus Arts Award is both an honor and a deeply moving moment. Exhibiting in Milan, at the MAS Museo Arte e Scienza, is as if my work has found a larger space to breathe and express itself.

It confirms that intimacy, tenderness, and silent emotion have a place in contemporary art. I consider this opportunity not only recognition, but an invitation to continue creating with honesty and to share my inner world with an international audience.
