Il 13 febbraio, le prestigiose sale del Museo d'Arte e Scienza apriranno le porte alla cerimonia di premiazione degli Olympus Arts Awards. Tra le eccellenze selezionate per la Sezione Arti Visive, emerge una voce potente e introspettiva: quella di Ilona Korshunova.

1. L'arte ha sempre fatto parte della tua vita? Come hai intrapreso questo percorso? 

« Disegno fin da bambina e l'arte fa parte della mia vita da quando ho memoria. Dipingere è diventato il mio modo di sentire, comprendere ed esprimere ciò che non può essere espresso a parole.»

2. Come nascono le tue opere? Se potessi attribuirgli un carattere, le definiresti impulsive o riflessive? 

« I miei lavori nascono da un impulso intuitivo, ma si sviluppano attraverso la riflessione. La prima immagine appare spontaneamente, mentre il processo in sé richiede tempo, silenzio e consapevolezza. È un dialogo tra emozioni e coscienza.»

3. Un cavallo, uno scudo e una rosa rossa: quale di questi considereresti il ​​vero protagonista? Puoi raccontarci il significato che questi elementi hanno per te all'interno della tua opera? 

« In questa mia opera non c'è un singolo protagonista principale: tutti gli elementi formano un tutt'uno. Il cavallo, lo scudo e la rosa sono una metafora del viaggio umano. Il cavallo rappresenta la forza interiore e la capacità di andare avanti, qualunque cosa accada. Lo scudo simboleggia la protezione. La rosa rappresenta la bellezza dell'anima: fragile, viva e con le sue spine. E il cammino stesso appare come una ferita: difficile, ma l'unica via d'uscita. Quest'opera parla del viaggio: del continuare ad andare avanti nonostante le ferite e la paura, per ciò che conta davvero.»

4. Il luogo in cui prendono vita le tue opere: quanto è importante per te? Potresti lavorare ovunque o solo nel tuo studio? 

« Il luogo è importante come stato mentale. Il mio studio mi aiuta a concentrarmi e ad essere onesta con me stessa. Ma il nucleo generatore del lavoro è sempre dentro di me, quindi con il giusto stato interiore posso lavorare ovunque.»

5. Cosa significa per te essere stato selezionato tra i trenta vincitori dell'Olympus Arts Awards ed esporre a Milano, al Museo MAS Arte e Scienza? 

« Per me è un grande onore e un sentimento di profonda gratitudine. Essere tra i vincitori significa che il mio percorso artistico è stato riconosciuto e valorizzato. Gli Olympus Arts Awards rappresentano un momento importante e stimolante della mia vita.»

Olympus Arts Awards: interview with Ilona Korshunova

On February 13th, the prestigious halls of the Museum of Art and Science will open their doors to the Olympus Arts Awards ceremony. Among the outstanding artists selected for the Visual Arts section, a powerful and introspective voice stands out: that of Ilona Korshunova.

1. Has art always been a part of your life? How did you embark on this journey?

« I've been drawing since I was a child, and art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Painting has become my way of feeling, understanding, and expressing what cannot be expressed in words.»

2. How do your works come about? If you could attribute a character to them, would you define them as impulsive or reflective?

« My works are born from an intuitive impulse, but they develop through reflection. The first image appears spontaneously, while the process itself requires time, silence, and awareness. It is a dialogue between emotions and consciousness.»

3. A horse, a shield, and a red rose: which of these would you consider the true protagonist? Can you tell us what these elements mean to you within your work?

« In this work of mine, there is no single main protagonist: all the elements form a whole. The horse, the shield, and the rose are a metaphor for the human journey. The horse represents inner strength and the ability to move forward, no matter what. The shield symbolizes protection. The rose represents the beauty of the soul: fragile, alive, and thorny. And the path itself appears like a wound: difficult, but the only way out. This work speaks of the journey: of continuing to move forward despite wounds and fear, for what truly matters.»

4. The place where your works come to life: how important is it to you? Could you work anywhere or only in your studio?

« The place is important as a state of mind. My studio helps me focus and be honest with myself. But the creative core of the work is always within me, so with the right internal state, I can work anywhere.»

5. What does it mean to you to be selected among the thirty winners of the Olympus Arts Awards and to exhibit in Milan, at the MAS Arte e Scienza Museum?

« For me, it is a great honor and a feeling of deep gratitude. Being among the winners means that my artistic journey has been recognized and valued. The Olympus Arts Awards represent an important and inspiring moment in my life.»
