Artista visionario, sensibile narratore della realtà e delle complesse sfumature dell'animo umano, Giampiero Murgia concepisce la sua produzione pittorica come un processo rigoroso in cui nulla è lasciato al caso. Ogni scelta compositiva si origina da un attento e approfondito lavoro di studio e analisi che si traduce in un intenso dialogo tra l'artista e l'opera stessa, luogo di confronto e di scoperta. 

Tra suggestioni impressioniste ed elementi realistici o surreali, carichi di simbolismo, il suo linguaggio visivo appare autentico e raffinato, in grado di evolversi senza mai perdere coerenza. Opere come Congiunzione astrale e La quiete e la tempesta ne offrono una testimonianza esemplare: l'artista vi dispiega con lucidità e profondità tematiche ricorrenti del suo immaginario (l'onirico, le distese marine, il fragile confine tra il visibile e l'invisibile), elaborandole in composizioni di grande intensità evocativa. In esse, la pittura si fa soglia, luogo di passaggio tra mondi, capace di restituire allo sguardo non solo ciò che appare, ma anche ciò che si cela al di là dell'evidenza.

Sebbene appartenenti a fasi differenti della parabola creativa di Murgia – la prima opera riconducibile agli esordi, ancora permeati da una certa tensione sperimentale, la seconda collocabile in un momento più compiuto e consapevole della sua produzione – entrambe testimoniano una continuità stilistica che si fa cifra identitaria dell'artista.

L'intenso utilizzo del blu oltremare, elemento fondante e ricorrente della sua pittorica, assume in questi dipinti una funzione quasi liturgica, come strumento di immersione percettiva e meditativa. Al contempo, la luce, oggetto privilegiato d'indagine, si configura come elemento in costante metamorfosi: se nella prima opera è suggerita, evocata con pudore, nella seconda diventa presenza concreta, modulata con straordinaria maestria. È proprio in questa progressiva evoluzione del dialogo con la luce che si coglie la maturazione di Murgia. Nel dipinto La quiete e la tempesta l'impatto visivo ed emozionale scaturisce, infatti, proprio dalla definizione dei contrasti e dall'intensità della luce che si sprigiona tra le profondità cromatiche e materiche, segnate dalla bicromia del blu e del bianco. Lo scenario che si profila induce ad una lettura dell'opera e ad una riflessione sulla sua significatività simbolica e la sua caratura, squisitamente metafisica. Si coglie il dualismo cosmico nella raffigurazione di un mare tumultuoso che decanta nella pace e nella quiete di una baia: il mare e il cielo che tendono a fondersi come in un processo di catarsi, luci ed ombre che si alternano e che segnano il percorso. È il cammino dell'humanae genti nel corso della vita, fatta di ostacoli, dolori, gioia e serenità.

Giampiero Murgia - Painting as rite and revelation 

A visionary artist and sensitive narrator of reality and the intricate nuances of the human soul, Giampiero Murgia conceives his painting practice as a rigorous process in which nothing is left to chance. Every compositional choice stems from a careful and thorough process of study and analysis, which translates into an intense dialogue between the artist and the work itself—a space of confrontation and discovery.

Works such as Congiunzione astrale and La quiete e la tempesta offer exemplary testimony to this: in them, the artist unfolds recurring themes from his imaginary (dreamlike visions, seascapes, the fragile boundary between the visible and the invisible) elaborating them into compositions of striking evocative power. The intense use of ultramarine blue - a foundational and recurring element in his painting - takes on an almost liturgical role in these works, acting as a tool for perceptual and meditative immersion. At the same time, light, a privileged subject of investigation, appears as an element in constant metamorphosis: while in the first work it is merely suggested, evoked with delicacy, in the second it becomes a concrete presence, modulated with extraordinary mastery.

It is precisely in this progressive evolution of the dialogue with light that Murgia's maturation becomes apparent.
