Proveniente da una stirpe di ebanisti, ha potuto ereditare l'eccellenza dell'artigianato autentico. Ingegnere qualificato ed esperto, laureato in scienze del legno, è riconosciuto per il suo know-how tecnologico. Dal 2003, ha fuso la sua formazione tecnica con la visione artistica, creando opere che integrano nuove tecnologie, firmate "BeMyCreation®".

Alchimista del tempo, Bertrand Marcelly in arte Eli Mars Sculptor si inserisce con determinazione nell'ambito dell'astrazione geometrica e del concettuale, palesando un'impronta stilistica ben delineata che lo contraddistingue nel panorama artistico contemporaneo.

Una dicotomia cromatica di forte impatto contraddistingue le superfici quadrettate in entrambe le opere, trasmettendo l'idea di una forza centrifuga e di una manipolazione dello spazio che sembra, in qualche modo, citare il cinetismo opticale dell'astrazione novecentista di artisti come Victor Vasarely.

Tuttavia, Eli Mars Sculptor si discosta da un approccio meramente percettivo, mutuando la rigorosità geometrica per caricarla di una valenza emozionale e simbolica. Con un'azione concettuale, l'artista libera la matrice rigida della scacchiera, suggerendo che la speranza risiede nella flessibilità della forma. 

Le farfalle si trasformano così in emblemi di libertà e di "caos ordinato" sollecitando lo spettatore ad un'interazione intellettuale con le opere volta a discernere la logica sottesa alla distorsione formale.

Bertrand Marcelly, known as Eli MARS sculptor, is a French sculptor specializing in geometric abstraction and conceptual art. Born into a family of cabinetmakers, he inherited the excellence of authentic craftsmanship. A qualified and experienced engineer with a degree in wood science, he is recognized for his technological expertise. Since 2003, he has combined his technical training with his artistic vision, creating works that integrate new technologies, under the "BeMyCreation®" banner.

With a unique blend of engineering techné and philosophical reflection, he elevates the creative act, introducing his distinctive language capable of forging a dialogue between diverse elements such as wood, mirrors, and innovative materials. The diptych presented here, part of the "Happy World" series, undoubtedly offers a visual synthesis of the artist's favorite themes. We find the recurring geometric tension in many of his works, as well as the element of the chessboard, the iconographic core of his research, which here is broken down to reflect the silhouette of the butterfly, conveying concepts such as lightness and metamorphosis. A striking chromatic dichotomy characterizes the checkered surfaces in both works, conveying the idea of ​​centrifugal force and a manipulation of space that seems, in some way, to reference the optical kineticism of twentieth-century abstraction by artists such as Victor Vasarely.

However, Eli Mars Sculptor distances himself from a merely perceptual approach, borrowing geometric rigor to imbue it with emotional and symbolic significance. With a conceptual action, the artist liberates the rigid matrix of the chessboard, suggesting that hope lies in the flexibility of form.

The butterflies thus transform into emblems of freedom and "ordered chaos", encouraging the viewer to engage in an intellectual interaction with the works aimed at discerning the logic underlying the formal distortion.
