In occasione della Mostra Internazionale "Italy calls the world" che si svolgerà a New York dal 21 giugno presso la Fridman Gallery, abbiamo avuto il piacere di intervistare Anna Jagodová, tra gli artisti selezionati per questo evento.
1. Ciao Anna, per iniziare la nostra conversazione, puoi parlarci del tuo percorso artistico? Hai una formazione accademica o sei autodidatta?
Da bambina ho frequentato una scuola elementare d'arte. In seguito ho proseguito con le scuole superiori d'arte. Ma è nel 2005 che ho iniziato veramente, studiando all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Cracovia, dove mi sono laureata con lode.
2. Il tuo lavoro artistico si basa maggiormente su un processo interiore e intuitivo, oppure è più razionale?
All'inizio, quando l'idea prende forma, è un processo interiore e intimo. Poi inizia il processo razionale, quando trasferisco l'idea sulla tela. La pittura realistica richiede in gran parte un approccio razionale.
3. Quanto è importante la cultura del tuo paese d'origine, la Slovacchia, nella creazione delle tue opere artistiche?
Credo che ognuno sia plasmato dall'ambiente in cui cresce. Mio nonno era un appassionato di cultura e arte. Mi ha insegnato ad amare l'arte e la cultura della nostra terra.
4. Partecipare a questa mostra collettiva a New York è una nuova avventura che hai accettato per qualche motivo?
Ho partecipato a molte mostre collettive, ma questa è una assoluta novità per me! Credo sia per questo che ho accettato l'invito.
5. La bella donna ritratta nel dipinto che sarà esposto a New York, sei tu?
Sì, è un mio autoritratto.

Interview with artist Anna Jagodová, one of the participants in the "Italy Calls the World" event.
On the occasion of the International Exhibition "Italy Calls the World," which will take place in New York from June 21st at the Fridman Gallery, we had the pleasure of interviewing Anna Jagodová, one of the artists selected for this event.
1. Hi Anna, to start our conversation, can you tell us about your artistic journey? Are you academically trained or are you self-taught?
As a child, I attended an elementary art school. I later continued with art secondary school. But it was in 2005 that I truly began, studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where I graduated with honors.
2. Is your artistic work based more on an internal and intuitive process, or is it more rational?
In the beginning, when the idea takes shape, it's an internal and intimate process. Then the rational process begins, when I transfer the idea to canvas. Realistic painting largely requires a rational approach.
3. How important is the culture of your home country, Slovakia, in the creation of your artwork?
I believe everyone is shaped by the environment in which they grow up. My grandfather was passionate about culture and art. He taught me to love the art and culture of our country.
4. Is participating in this group show in New York a new adventure you accepted for some reason?
I've participated in many group shows, but this is completely new to me! I think that's why I accepted the invitation.
5. Is that you, the beautiful woman in the painting that will be exhibited in New York?
Yes, it's a self-portrait.
