In occasione della Mostra Internazionale "Italy calls the world" che si svolgerà a New York dal 21 giugno presso la Fridman Gallery, abbiamo avuto il piacere di intervistare
Andreas Angleitner tra gli artisti selezionati per questo evento in videoesposizione.

1. Ciao Andreas, per cominciare, racconta ai nostri lettori quando hai scoperto la tua passione e come hai capito che si trattava di un vero e proprio bisogno spirituale.

Nel 2019 ho frequentato per qualche tempo un atelier di pittura pubblico nella mia città. C'erano molti bambini e, a causa del rumore, non riuscivo a concentrarmi sulle mie opere. Così ho deciso di andarmene e ho iniziato a dipingere in un grande salone all'interno dell'azienda di mio padre. Lì ho preso in mano una spatola e mi è piaciuta fin da subito la facilità con cui riuscivo a creare quadri astratti; da quel momento ho continuato a sperimentare con diversi materiali, come il calcare, la polvere di marmo, i pastelli e molto altro. Creare opere d'arte è il mio modo preferito di esprimermi: a causa del mio disturbo mentale ho difficoltà a interagire con gli altri e a parlare dei miei problemi personali, ma la pittura mi permette di farlo liberamente e senza sforzo. 

2. In questa mostra newyorkese, le tue opere saranno esposte digitalmente sul maxi-schermo della galleria. Cosa rappresenta per te questa opportunità e quali emozioni stai provando?

Esporre alla Fridman Gallery è un'ottima opportunità per farsi notare da un vasto pubblico, il che mi rende un pizzico orgoglioso di me stesso. Al tempo stesso, sono davvero entusiasta ed emozionato. 

3. Parlaci delle opere selezionate per questo evento e di cosa speri di trasmettere attraverso di esse.

Ho proposto queste tre opere per la mostra perché amo moltissimo i loro accostamenti cromatici; inoltre, "Sonic Speed" è l'opera che vanta il maggior numero di visualizzazioni sul mio sito web. 

"Sonic Speed" nasce dal mio desiderio fantastico di allontanarmi dalla Terra. A volte vorrei non far più parte di questa società e fuggire altrove. 

"Flapping of Wings", invece, ha una meravigliosa combinazione di sfumature arancioni e grigie: la trovo un'opera estremamente fresca e moderna! 

4. Se potessi incontrare un artista del passato e osservare le sue opere, chi sceglieresti?

Mi piacerebbe molto incontrare Gerhard Richter e osservare da vicino come realizza i suoi grandi dipinti usando i rasi (o le spatole). Tra tutti gli artisti, il suo stile è in assoluto il mio preferito. 

5. Se dovessi descrivere la tua arte in tre parole, quali sceglieresti?

 Le parole che sceglierei sono: moderno, emozionante e d'impatto.

Interview with artist Andreas Angleitner, one of the protagonists of the event "Italy Calls the World"

On the occasion of the International Exhibition "Italy Calls the World," taking place in New York from June 21st at the Fridman Gallery, we had the pleasure of interviewingAndreas Angleitner, one of the artists selected for this video exhibition.

1. Hi Andreas, to begin, tell our readers when you discovered your passion and how you realized it was a true spiritual need?

 In 2019 I joined several hours in a public painting room in my town. There were many young kids so I couldn't concentrate on my own paintings due to their noise. So I quit there and started to paint in a large hall in my father's company. I took a spatula and liked the easy-going creation of abstract paintings immediately so I kept going on with experimenting with different materials like limestone, marble dust, pastels and so on. Creating artworks is my personal favorite way of expressing myself - due to my mental disorder I have troubles with engaging with other people, telling others about my personal problems and so on and painting makes it easy to me to express myself.

2. In this New York exhibition, you will be displaying your works digitally on the gallery's giant screen. What does this opportunity mean to you, and what emotions are you experiencing?

Exhibiting at Fridman is a great opportunity to get noticed by a large audience which makes me a little bit proud of myself. I am thrilled and excited too. 

3. Tell us about the works selected for this event and what you hope to convey through them:

I chose all three artworks for the exhibition because I like the color combinations very much, furthermore "Sonic Speed" has the most views of all artworks on my website. "Sonic Speed" deals with my fantasy of moving away from earth. Sometimes I don't want to be a member of our society any more and would like to flee anywhere else.

"Flapping of Wings" has a marvelous combination of orange and grey hues - it just appears very fresh and modern to me!

4. If you could meet an artist from the past and observe their work, who would you like to meet?

I would like to meet Gerhard Richter and observe his large paintings made by squeegees. His style is my favorite one amongst all artists. 

5. If you had to describe your art in three words, which ones would you choose?

My selection of words would be: modern, stirring and pushy.
